Tommy Collins/Tomás Ó Coileáin is a father, poet, and teacher from Limerick City. He has been the poetry editor of Revival Press, the poetry imprint of the Limerick Writers' Centre, since 2023. Poems in English and Irish have been published in Irisleabhar Mhá Nuad, Howl New Irish Writing, The Honest Ulsterman, A New Ulster, The Ogham Stone,The Stony Thursday Book, The Waxed Lemon, Stripes, Stray Words, The Galway Review, Aneas, Comhar, An Gael, Drawn To The Light Press, Lothlorien Poetry Journal, andThe Hong Kong Review (forthcoming), as well as in two collections of poetry, Inside Out (2020) and bilingual collection Ar an Leoithne/On the Breeze (2024). In 2024, he won first prize in the "Hold Fast To Dreams" poetry competition (Drawn to the Light) and an Chéad Duais i gComórtas Filíochta Fhéile Raifteirí (Baile Locha Riach).

Poetry Day Ireland is an annual island-wide celebration of poetry taking place on Thursday May 1st, 2025 with the theme May Day! The Theme May Day offers a rich source of poetic inspiration. As the midpoint between the spring and autumn equinox, May Day is deeply rooted in ancient traditions, including the fire festival of Bealtaine, symbolising renewal, hope, and abundance. The day is also recognised globally as International Workers’ Day, a time for reflection on solidarity, unity, and collective strength.
