Thaddeus Ó Buachalla is an Irish-language author, novelist, poet and composer from Cork City. He was awarded a doctorate by Cork University College in 2015. He has two books published by Coiscéim, Clocháin sa Scoilt in 2019 and EL, which received an An Post Irish Book Award in 2022.
This year, Poetry Day Ireland will take place on Thursday 25 April 2024 with the theme, 'Good Sports'.
Good Sports celebrates the good sport in all of us, the drive to give it a go or to have a crack at it. Join us as we celebrate the Olympic year, the clash of the ash, the narrow miss, the kick of a ball, the roar of the crowd, the crushing defeat, the herculean feat, the triumph, and our willingness to be good sports in all aspects of our lives.
People are invited to draw inspiration from the theme, and are welcome to read to the theme on the open mic.
We are grateful for the support of The Arts Council and Limerick City & County Council.
Zoom closed-captions will be made available for this event.
Participation is limited to the first 100 guests to join.
