Patrick Close, despite being old enough to know better, remains an obscurist visual artist, an imagist poet, a renga wrangler, an inveterate photographer, and uncanadien errant.
To his knowledge, his poems remain mostly unpublished. However, there have been reports that poems have occasionally escaped his notebooks and ventured bravely out into the world. The poems were said to be somewhat shaken by the ordeal. His haiku were once seen on road-side billboards and his escaped poems have appeared written on trees, leaves and grasses in the northern boreal forest of Canada. While this has amused hikers and loggers greatly, the local wildlife have remained resolutely indifferent.
Patrick has read his works at DeBarra's in Clonakilty, Ireland. Impromptu at Shakespeare and Company in Paris, for the Saskatchewan Writers Guild City Nights venue in Canada, and online with Lime Square Poets.
We are grateful for the support of The Arts Council and Limerick City & County Council.
Zoom closed-captions will be made available for this event.
Participation is limited to the first 100 guests to join.
