Pat Boran is one of Ireland’s best-known poets, a frequent radio broadcaster and maker of short poetry films. His many books of poetry and prose include his latest books pf poems, Hedge School (2024), Then Again, Waveforms: Bull Island Haiku, and The Invisible Prison – his humorous prose memoir of growing up in the Irish midlands. His pocket-sized selected poems, A Man Is Only As Good, has been published in many languages. His writers’ handbook, The Portable Creative Writing Workshop, has been in print for 20 years. He is a member of Aosdána, Ireland’s affiliation of creative artists, has held a variety of residency posts, and his awards include the Patrick Kavanagh Award and the Lawrence O’Shaughnessy Poetry Award in the US.
