Peter A is a Scottish writer who is also proud to hold Irish citizenship. In 2016 he won first prize in
the Paisley Spree Fringe Poetry Competition. Since 2017 his work has been published online (zines
and journals such as I am not a silent poet and Pendemic), in many paper publications including
Laldy, Spindrift, Poems for Grenfell Tower, A Kind of Stupidity, Bridges or Walls?, Words from
Battlefield, A Kist of Thistles, Poets Against Trump, Surfing, The Angry Manifesto (Thatcher
volume), Black Lives Matter – Poems for a New World, Things To Do With Love, Art, Sci-Fi,
Summer Anywhere, The Wee book of Wee Poems, Calton Ceilidh and Poetry and Settled Status for
All. His most recent publication was in Bangor Literary Journal. His work has also featured in
poetry films and sound installations.
His debut chapbook Art of Insomnia was released by Hedgehog Poetry Press (May 2021),
nominated for the Michael Marks Pamphlet Award 2021, with one of its poems nominated for a
2022 Pushcart Prize; a revised version of Art of Insomnia was published in 2022. Peter continues to
contribute poetry, short fiction and creative non-fiction to anthologies while working on his first full
collection.
