Jim Crickard is a poet based in Cork City. His poetry is camp, entertaining work exploring culture, sexuality and identity. He is the reigning Munster Slam Champion and placed 3rd in the All Ireland Slam 2022. In the same year, he performed alongside other artists in the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. His work was broadcasted on RTE Arena (2020) and he has performed at Electric Picnic, Cork World Book Festival, First Fortnight Festival. He represented Cork in the Cork-Coventry Twin Exchange, and released a chapbook, Southern Syllables, co-authored by Molly Twomey.  In 2019 Poetry Ireland selected him for Versify and he performed at Dublin Fringe. In 2019 he placed 2nd in the All Ireland Poetry.
