Deirdre Devally writes poetry, prose and songs. Her work has been broadcast on RTE Radio 1, on local Irish stations, in the US and Europe. Literary journal publications include The Honest Ulsterman, The Ogham Stone and the upcoming edition of The Stony Thursday Book. Publications in anthologies include Arlen House, Washing Windows Too and RB Poetry Art Exposition, 12 Original Paintings & Poems. Her debut poetry album The Broken Timbers Speak was released in 2020. She is the featured speaker on the November edition of the Creative Souls of Clare Podcast. She has read at Feile Brian Boru, and other events and recently read and sang at the International Day of Peace Ceremony in Tipperary and at the site of the Mother and Baby Home in Tuam.
Deirdre will graduate in January 2023 with an MA in Creative Writing from UL. She received an Arts Council Agility Award in Spring 2022 to research Glasnevin Cemetery (her childhood playground as her grandparents lived in the Gate Lodge) and poetic forms. She is currently working on her debut printed poetry collection. From Dublin, Deirdre moved to Clare in 1999.
