John FitzGerald has published three books of poetry with the Gallery Press: Long Distance (2024), The Lament for Art O’Leary (2023) and The Time Being (2021), which was shortlisted for the 2022 Seamus Heaney Prize. Two letterpress editions of his work have appeared with The Salvage Press, Haiku na Feirme (2022) and Darklight (2019), and his chapbook First Cut appeared in the Southword New Irish Voices series in 2017. He won the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Prize in 2014 and The Atlantic Currents Prize in 2021. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the School of English, University College Cork.
