Becca Frankel (she/they) is a poet, novelist, editor, and classicist from Pennsylvania. She is a 2023/2024 Fulbright scholarship recipient, developing a poetry collection focusing on Banshees, wailing women, death messengers, and the poetry of identity for the programme that doubles as her dissertation for the UCC MA in Creative Writing degree. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and Brandeis University with degrees in Ancient Greek and Creative Writing, she was the 2021 recipient of the Andrea K. Willison Poetry Prize and a scholarship recipient to the 2021 New York State Summer Writers Institute at Skidmore. Her work is inspired by the confessional poets, various world mythologies and folklore linked to personal experience and her cultural and ethnic identities, and all things speculative.
Their work has been published by The Sarah Lawrence Review, Mag 20/20, Endless Press, Love & Squalor, and Livina Press. She can be found on the platform formerly known as Twitter as @beccafrankel.
We are grateful for the support of The Arts Council and Limerick City & County Council.
